Production; The pigeon, the sand and the ice cream shop

Hey Gems. See the wait wasn't too long. Double the blogs double the fun.  But I think y'all have waited long enough let's get into this.

So we left off on the awkwardness of filming in public. But luckily for me there wasn't that many people there, perks of filming in the early afternoon I guess. However when we were about the film a scene in the ice cream shop we realized we had no towels for the beach.  Guess what we did. I hope you said go back to the house and get some because you would be correct.  So we walk from the beach to her house and from her house back to the beach. Yep you did read that correctly. I'm double blogging about our double walking.  However if was a blessing in disguise. We played Maddie's mom the video in process, we she said it was slightly unclear. So we took that added little actions to the video, to help convey the tension and feelings going on between the two of them.

So a few hundred steps later with props in head we are ready to continue filming. In this scene the pair is going to get ice cream. So first we ask permission from the worker, who by the way was so nice. So as I preparing to film the first take a guest star makes a special appearance. I think the title gave it away; a pigeon who wanted his time in the spot light. So the first take was scraped because the of the angles. So as I was practicing to correct the error, I'm holding the door slightly open when the pigeon walks into Kilwins. I guess everyone really does like ice cream. Though his stardom was short-lived but his impact was life long. So we order our ice cream and continue to film. The last scene filmed was on the beach. On that very windy day sand was flying waves were crashing. And the pair in shown enjoying their ice cream and their last moment as friends.

Well Gems that's all I have for you today. But I'll see you in the next one. Keep shining.

Sincerely,

Makenna Jewels <3

P.S. That ice cream was so good. Honestly shoutout to that employee.

Production: Filming; The Man in the Mirror (maze)

Hey Gems. Welcome back as promised here is the blog were I felt everything went wrong. But we'll get into that. This blog is not A Glimpse in my Chaotic Mind, because I wouldn't have done that, rather a look into someone else's mind. Let's just get into this.  First how do you work at a fair and have the most unapproachable attitude I have ever seen in my whole 16 years of living. Like if you don't like people don't work at fair. Like hello. So as y’all know the mirror maze was a major part of our film. Yes I’m using past tense because that dream came crashing down real quick. So. we mostly filmed in order of the scenes. We beforehand asked each ride or game attendee can we film. When we asked Mr. Attitude’s response was “no, how many?” Then when we were trying to explain the situation to him he just scanned the game-card and told us to go in. However we were what for it to clear so we could get a good take. He doesn’t care at all.  Now that we had captured the ...

Production; Wrapped in black

Hey Gems.  I hope you enjoyed my rant about about motorcycles last blog. Today's blog is going to be less aggressive. Yes, I know the title is deceiving. But what do you expect when this is a glimpse into my chaotic mind. However today is all about my costume. Let's get into this.   My character Amanda (spoiler) is the stalker so we decided all black would be the best option.  A hoodie was also included in the outfit as to make to reveal more dramatic. Shall we break this outfit down like they do on the red carpet.  A black hoodie that was slightly oversized to have a hood that would cover my face. The face covering that was actually a black scarf which was used instead of a face mask. And I think the worst decision made on my part, black boots with an wedge. Don't get me wrong I love my boots but as a stalker running around a fair, a pair of Converses would have been a relief. The hoodie and boots were paired with dark blue jeans. Side note the nails ...

Title Research; Gone girl

Welcome back Gems. Today the research we've learned is being used to break down an opening sequence.  The movie being used is Gone Girl. Let's get into this.  The website I have decided to use is: http://www.artofthetitle.com/ What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? They display that it is a David Fincher film Based on the novel by Gillian Flynn, Written by Gillian Flynn and Scott Huff. They also mention the actors like Rosamund Pike, Ben Affleck, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Carrie Coon, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit, and Lisa Banes. Also, they mention the title “Gone What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The opening sequence of Gone Girl is quite stylized and features a series of images of the lead characters Amy Eliott and Nick Punne as well as the various places where the movie is set, including their sprawling New York home, the streets of Missouri, and the natural surroundings. How does the film establish a feeling of the genre fro...
