Production; The 3 million and 1 motorcycles

Welcome back Gems. Don't let the title scare you, this blog is indeed about filming, or the lack thereof. Gear up for this one and let's hit the road.

So we all know to make this movie happen we had to be at a fair. We do know this right? Because if you don't then I don't know why you're reading this. Read those and then come back. Ok now that they're gone, we arrived at the fair at roughly 6:15 pm. We had to walk down to the entrance and buy tickets. The way we enter had this expo inside of it.  Like Publix, Mattress Firm and mini sea show and so much more. However Jennifer wasn't not in there. She didn't even know what we were talking about I mean who would "near the giant sand shark" isn't exactly the best directions. So when find her it is exactly 6:30 pm, which is the time the South Florida fair decided to have a motorcycle parade. Yeah motorcycle and parade in the same sentence. This parade consisted of well over 300 motorcyclist and even someone with a slingshot car. All this noise and smell set filming back drastically.

On the bright side we found Jennifer on the smoke filled side 300 motorcycle stood in between us. If I'm being honest I was praying a Red Sea moment would happen because we had a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it.  I'm mean we were at least 30 minutes behind the allot schedule. And with this being a school night this was major issue. Side note I didn't know that many people go to the fair on a weeknight. Anyways, when were able to cross, and I thought it was over there they were still cruising on by with out a care in the world. When we finally were able to buy tickets if was different than we were expecting. It automatic ticket machine not a person working a booth. So we reworked the first scene, minor problem, right? Well yes beside the people walking through while the camera is rolling blocking the stalker from the view of the camera.  Good thing more than one take exist.

And that's how scene one was filmed. Yeah it was a bit rocky but if y'all think that's the worst of it, buckle up for next blog. As always keep shining Gems and if you ride a motorcycle: first don't and second wear a helmet.

Sincerely,

Makenna Jewels <3

P.S just a clip of the madness.

Production: Filming; The Man in the Mirror (maze)

Hey Gems. Welcome back as promised here is the blog were I felt everything went wrong. But we'll get into that. This blog is not A Glimpse in my Chaotic Mind, because I wouldn't have done that, rather a look into someone else's mind. Let's just get into this.  First how do you work at a fair and have the most unapproachable attitude I have ever seen in my whole 16 years of living. Like if you don't like people don't work at fair. Like hello. So as y’all know the mirror maze was a major part of our film. Yes I’m using past tense because that dream came crashing down real quick. So. we mostly filmed in order of the scenes. We beforehand asked each ride or game attendee can we film. When we asked Mr. Attitude’s response was “no, how many?” Then when we were trying to explain the situation to him he just scanned the game-card and told us to go in. However we were what for it to clear so we could get a good take. He doesn’t care at all.  Now that we had captured the ...

Intro blog; All about me

Welcome Gems to the story of my life.  My name is Makenna Jewels Ricks born on December 20th 2007 making me a Sagittarius. I grew up with my two younger sisters and two older brothers. And my favorite color is pink.  Now that the introduction is out of the way let's get into it. From a very young age I have always loved to read, a trait I still posses. The feel of paper in my hands is an unbeatable feeling.  It has always been amazing how some can create such a complex world with only ink, paper and their imagination.  Emotional transportation to anywhere or any time I like. The Book Thief, Six of Crows and Legendborn really created this transportation for me. Baking is a passion of mine. It's like sharing in the art of creation, with sugar, spice and all that. My favorite personal recipe has to be my mini apple pies, that's all I can say about them (trademark pending). But y'know what beats baking desserts? Eating desserts, chocolate chip cookies, cake with but...

Production; Wrapped in black

Hey Gems.  I hope you enjoyed my rant about about motorcycles last blog. Today's blog is going to be less aggressive. Yes, I know the title is deceiving. But what do you expect when this is a glimpse into my chaotic mind. However today is all about my costume. Let's get into this.   My character Amanda (spoiler) is the stalker so we decided all black would be the best option.  A hoodie was also included in the outfit as to make to reveal more dramatic. Shall we break this outfit down like they do on the red carpet.  A black hoodie that was slightly oversized to have a hood that would cover my face. The face covering that was actually a black scarf which was used instead of a face mask. And I think the worst decision made on my part, black boots with an wedge. Don't get me wrong I love my boots but as a stalker running around a fair, a pair of Converses would have been a relief. The hoodie and boots were paired with dark blue jeans. Side note the nails ...
