Production; Does That Sound Fair?

Hey Gems. Today is a good day. It's music day. And no, before you ask, this will not be a mirror image of my Spotify wrapped. Which is unfortunate for me. Let's get into this.

First I would state the difference between circus and fair. We going with fair, not circus okay. I'm glad we got that out of the the way. Second the music being used is copyright free. I know it's sad but there will be no features of the soundtrack. It's a sad but true fact, none of our favs are making an appearance.

So the song has to have a mysterious tone because of the whole stalker thing. The mood created need to have the viewers on edge. For me a fair has a sense of comfort and fun I wanted that the felt through the music. But also the feeling of something not being right from the friends being followed. The music need to be able to the tell the story that was also being told by the actors. So friendly to eerie. If you remember last project, the music video, the music began to build over time with the story. As the plot thickened so did the music. And that same vibe is what we wanted. I think picking the song this time around was a lot easier. No one had to go through their Spotify playlist have all of us rank them. Copyright free was just so much easier, y'know. And plus no one was stuck with a song they didn't like.

Now the only problem was making sure the music wasn't giving killer clown, because that was so 2016. And I personally have no interest in repeating that whole scary clown debacle, let's leave it in the past. Anyway filtering through that all that madness allowed us the find the prefect song. Now I'm not going to say what it is just. I don't want to ruin the shock factor of the movie. So just be patience. But I will tell you copyright free suspenseful music is you want a teaser.

Well Gems that's it. A music choice made by me that didn't take forever to commit to. Go listen to your favorite artist and song, because I sure will, and as always keep shining.

Sincerely,

Makenna Jewels <3

P.S. when did I become a memer?

Production: Filming; The Man in the Mirror (maze)

Hey Gems. Welcome back as promised here is the blog were I felt everything went wrong. But we'll get into that. This blog is not A Glimpse in my Chaotic Mind, because I wouldn't have done that, rather a look into someone else's mind. Let's just get into this.  First how do you work at a fair and have the most unapproachable attitude I have ever seen in my whole 16 years of living. Like if you don't like people don't work at fair. Like hello. So as y’all know the mirror maze was a major part of our film. Yes I’m using past tense because that dream came crashing down real quick. So. we mostly filmed in order of the scenes. We beforehand asked each ride or game attendee can we film. When we asked Mr. Attitude’s response was “no, how many?” Then when we were trying to explain the situation to him he just scanned the game-card and told us to go in. However we were what for it to clear so we could get a good take. He doesn’t care at all.  Now that we had captured the ...

Production; Wrapped in black

Hey Gems.  I hope you enjoyed my rant about about motorcycles last blog. Today's blog is going to be less aggressive. Yes, I know the title is deceiving. But what do you expect when this is a glimpse into my chaotic mind. However today is all about my costume. Let's get into this.   My character Amanda (spoiler) is the stalker so we decided all black would be the best option.  A hoodie was also included in the outfit as to make to reveal more dramatic. Shall we break this outfit down like they do on the red carpet.  A black hoodie that was slightly oversized to have a hood that would cover my face. The face covering that was actually a black scarf which was used instead of a face mask. And I think the worst decision made on my part, black boots with an wedge. Don't get me wrong I love my boots but as a stalker running around a fair, a pair of Converses would have been a relief. The hoodie and boots were paired with dark blue jeans. Side note the nails ...

Title Research; Gone girl

Welcome back Gems. Today the research we've learned is being used to break down an opening sequence.  The movie being used is Gone Girl. Let's get into this.  The website I have decided to use is: http://www.artofthetitle.com/ What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? They display that it is a David Fincher film Based on the novel by Gillian Flynn, Written by Gillian Flynn and Scott Huff. They also mention the actors like Rosamund Pike, Ben Affleck, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Carrie Coon, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit, and Lisa Banes. Also, they mention the title “Gone What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The opening sequence of Gone Girl is quite stylized and features a series of images of the lead characters Amy Eliott and Nick Punne as well as the various places where the movie is set, including their sprawling New York home, the streets of Missouri, and the natural surroundings. How does the film establish a feeling of the genre fro...
